Arrival: Welcome to the Jungle
After landing in San José, we boarded a private plane to Golfito, where off-road jeeps were waiting on the tarmac. Our destination? A remote surf lodge in Matapalo, hidden between lush rainforest and a world-class right point break. Accessible only to a select few, it offered total privacy, unbeatable views, and direct access to some of the best waves on the planet. The accommodations were the perfect combination of simple luxury, a truly relaxing escape that allowed us to immediately slow down and get into the flow state.
Surf, Train & Recover
Mornings kicked off with sunrise yoga and organic breakfasts before we embarked on our boat-only access surf sessions at untouched breaks. Local guides dialed us into the best conditions, and afternoons were spent reviewing footage, sharpening technique, and recovering with private strength training. The deep tissue massages and ice baths? A game changer.
Boats and Boats
We traded boards for rods and set off on a deep-sea fishing run, landing trophy catches before an open-fire beachfront bbq—fresh seafood, craft cocktails, and live music under the stars. The most memorable experience where we were able to disconnect from our daily lives and reconnect sharing laughs to last a lifetime. The next day, we had a chance to SCUBA dive in the deepest blues of the pacific’s most untouched waters, swimming alongside sea turtles and reef sharks.
Cue the Music
From jungle paradise to the pulse of BPM Festival, where we had seamless access to world-class DJs, private lounges, and the best dance floors in the world. Mornings blurred into nights, surrounded by deep house beats, oceanfront venues, and an energy you can’t find anywhere else.
Off-Roading & Jungle Trails
Adrenaline kicked back in as we drove through the rainforest in all-terrain vehicles, navigating river crossings, steep jungle climbs, and hidden trails. The ride ended at a secluded waterfall, where we cooled off in the natural pools before heading back to home base.
Recovery Done Right
After days of adventure, we slowed it down with spa treatments, private chef-prepared meals, and a final sunset dinner overlooking the Pacific. Every detail, from the setting to the service, was designed for peak enjoyment.
One Last Wave
A dawn patrol surf, across the Gulfo Dulce to Pavones was the final scene on this incredible journey. Truly remarkable region in the southern most tip of Costa Rica, off the beaten path.
